The Haptic Tarot

A 79-card tarot deck by designer Nick Jacobs, created through a guided generative AI process and inspired by the Realist paintings of 15th-century Flemish artist Jan van Eyck. Hands serve as the primary symbolic language throughout the deck, drawing on the concept of haptics — the sense of touch — as a framework for intuitive reading. Smith-Waite structure underlies each card, rendered in an atmospheric style reminiscent of early Renaissance oil painting.
