Sonreír Coffee Company - Washed Whole Bean Coffee - Mexico - Chiapas
This coffee comes from the dedicated efforts of smallholder producers in the Soconusco region of Chiapas, Mexico. United under a cooperative, these producers cultivate high-quality Arabica beans at elevations between 1,000 and 1,900 meters. The coffee is carefully grown on small plots, with each farmer managing their own mill and drying patio to ensure exceptional attention to detail. With varietals like Bourbon, Caturra, and Oro Azteca, this coffee is washed and processed with sustainability and quality in mind.
MEXICAN COFFEE: BOLD FLAVORS, DEEP ROOTS.
Mexican coffee has deep roots, dating back to the early 19th century when cultivation began in Veracruz and quickly spread to the highlands of Chiapas and Oaxaca. With seeds traveling from the Caribbean, Arabia, and Guatemala, Mexico’s coffee-growing regions developed unique characteristics, blending heritage and innovation. By the late 1800s, Mexico became the third-largest coffee producer, earning a reputation for quality and sustainability.
