Carolina Parakeets 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

1000-piece jigsaw puzzle from the Fitzwilliam Collection, featuring Carolina Parakeets by Audubon.

Birds of America, by naturalist and artist John James Audubon, is among the finest ornithological works ever completed. Audubon set out to catalogue and portray every species of bird in North America. Plate 26 shows the wonderfully colorful Carolina parakeet — a small species of parrot now sadly extinct. In the text accompanying the image, Audubon comments on the dextrous and noisy nature of flocking parakeets, characteristics ably captured in this study.
