Kawachi Bankan Syrup
Kawachi bankan is a grapefruit-sized Japanese native citrus with a high sugar content and a moderate sourness, whose flavor resembles a pomelo.
Seikoba Fruit Garden in Kagoshima Prefecture takes a generous helping of the Kawachi bankan harvested from their own orchards, juices it, and blends it with liqueur and sugar from Hokkaido. The result is this superb syrup. It brings you a sweet boost and a refreshing citrus aroma at the same time.
You can use it as a drink by diluting it with water or soda or by adding it to cocktails. The syrup is also great when drizzled over desserts like ice cream, yogurt, shaved ice, and pancakes.
