Edvard Munch: The Sun 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle
Edvard Munch (Norwegian, 1863–1944) / The Sun, 1911
At 25 feet long and 14 feet tall, The Sun depicts a glowing sunrise over the rocky archipelago off Kragерø, Norway, and is considered one of the greatest achievements of modern mural painting. Munch’s Vitalist philosophy positioned the sun as a primal energy-giving force; the painting’s symmetry and structural power reflect that conviction. It remains on permanent display in the assembly hall of Oslo University.
