Demeter - Petrichor

Petrichor is the scientific term for the smell of rain on dry earth — a compound released when rainwater hits soil and displaces geosmin, a molecule produced by soil bacteria. Demeter isolated that exact phenomenon and put it in a bottle. Earthy, mineral, and faintly green, this is one of the most technically grounded entries in the Demeter catalog and a close companion to Thunderstorm, though distinctly more terrestrial. The rain has already landed here.

ABOUT DEMETER

Demeter Fragrance has been making single-note colognes since 1996, built on one radical idea: that any smell worth smelling is worth wearing. From fresh-cut grass to thunderstorms to funeral flowers, Demeter's library is considered one of the most important archives of olfactory experience in perfumery — a reference point for naturalistic and conceptual scent design. Worn alone or layered, each fragrance is a study in precision.
