Geisenoceras Fossil
Geisenoceras is an extinct cephalopod from the Devonian period, about 400 million years ago. It resembles a squid with a long, pointed shell. The lighter parts of the fossil show shell cavities used for buoyancy, while the dark areas surround rock. Once considered a single species (Orthoceras regulare), scientists later identified over 2,500 distinct conical-shelled nautiloid species, making classification complex.
A perfect addition for any fossil collection.
