While Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel moves between the Carpathian Mountains, London, and rural England, this stage adaptation places the action in Dr. Seward’s sanatorium near Purley in the English countryside.

Three pop-up rooms feature Gorey’s crosshatched scenery, with costumed characters and stage furniture: a tomb, a bed, two rugs, and a couch.
